New version of the minimum data set recommendation (version 1.1) published

Now available online

The updated version 1.1 of the minimum data set recommendation for museums and collections was published online in autumn 2025. It contains numerous clarifications and additions. For example, there are new code blocks for LIDO v1.1, revised acquisition instructions and an expanded concordance table with additional standards. FAQs, resources and references to the FAIR and CARE principles have also been updated.

The most important new features include:

• Logos of participating organisations on the homepage
• Additions to ‘Characterisation in LIDO’ for events, measurements, material and technology
• Revised notes on the language of the data set
• Inclusion of further standards (CCC-LIDO, CDWA Lite, Spectrum, Categories for the Description of Works of Art 2024)
• Revised credits and citation information
