Cocoda
Cocoda is a web application for creating, managing, and collecting mappings between the concepts of different knowledge organization systems (KOS) such as thesauri, classifications, or authority files. Cocoda was developed as part of the DFG-funded coli-conc project at the GBV’s central office (VZG) and has been offered as a standard service by the VZG for more than a year.
Cocoda’s core functions include searching vocabularies, editing existing mappings, and generating mapping recommendations. In addition, mappings can be annotated, evaluated, and confirmed. Direct search links to selected vocabularies facilitate access to relevant terms and their linking to the K10plus catalog, so that the titles indexed with them can be displayed.
A separate NFDI4Objects Cocoda instance is operated for NFDI4Objects, which enables the mapping of all concepts in the relevant terminologies. This facilitates the use and comparability of terms from different knowledge organization systems, which significantly improves the linking and findability of research data on material objects.
