Task Area 4 – Protecting

Task Area 4 ‘Protecting’ (TA4) deals with issues of data management and cross-institutional data exchange in the fields of heritage conservation and the conservation and restoration of collection objects or monuments. To date, there has been a lack of comprehensive standards and standardised structures in these areas. The exchange of monument-related data alone is often difficult due to the federal structure with its country-specific systems. The aim is to enable a smooth exchange between different systems through jointly defined standards (e.g. for data formats, interfaces or content structures) as well as defined and semantically linked specialised vocabularies.
