2nd Meeting of the Temporary Working Group CARE Principles

The second meeting of the Temporary Working Group (TWG) on CARE Principles will take place on March 25, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The TWG focuses on the CARE Principles, which explicitly aim to safeguard the rights of indigenous communities to research data in the context of open data and open science. The focus will be on four key aspects in particular: Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, and Ethics.

The meeting will feature two keynote presentations on the topic of CARE Principles by Dr. Sabine Imeri (Humboldt University of Berlin) and Dr. Michaela Rizzolli (University of Bremen), as well as by Dr. Oliver Vettermann (FIZ Karlsruhe). A joint discussion is planned following the presentations.
