Digital Classicist Seminar

Call for Papers 2025/26

The Berliner Antike-Kolleg, together with its partner institutions, the Grundlagenzentrum Alte Welt of the BBAW, the Institute for Computational Ancient Studies (FU Berlin), the Institute for Historical Sciences (HU Berlin) and the German Archaeological Institute, invites submissions for the Digital Classicist Seminar Berlin. The theme of the lecture series is ‘Potentials and limits of digital methods’ and is aimed in particular at young researchers.

We are looking for contributions that present innovative digital approaches in classical studies or critically reflect on their methodological challenges - for example in areas such as visualisation, data accessibility, reproducibility or big data.

The events will take place every two weeks from October 2025 to February 2026 on Tuesdays from 16:15-17:45 in hybrid form.
