The white paper “Summary of the status quo in research data management for the field of conservation-restoration (2025)” has been made available for public comment in our Community Hub. The white paper documents the current status of research data management in the field of conservation and restoration based on a Germany-wide community survey conducted in spring 2025. It discusses practices, challenges and needs in the handling of conservation research data. The entire community is cordially invited to formulate their comments and additions, including from perspectives outside the field. The white paper will then be included in the NFDI4Objects Commons. The comment period will run until Thursday, 9 October 2025.
The paper can be accessed and commented on here. For commenting, Registration in the NFDI4Objects Community Hub is required. Further information on the Commons can be found on our website.
In addition, the paper “Documentation standards and proof of ownership in collections - a comparative overview”, already announced in Newsletter 8/2025, is still open for discussion until 16 September. The paper can be accessed and commented on here. It also provides an insight into the ongoing discussion.
