DiHMA.Lab with MaRDI and NFDI4Objects
'Objects and methods'
On 14 and 15 October 2025, the DiHMa.Lab of Freie Universität Berlin in cooperation with ZIB invites you to a joint workshop of the MaRDI and NFDI4Objects consortia at Freie Universität Berlin. The interdisciplinary workshop will bring together different perspectives from mathematics and object-based humanities around the topic of ‘Objects and Methods’. The aim is to bring approaches, tools and questions from both disciplines into dialogue, to make interfaces visible and to discuss common methodological challenges. The workshop language is English.

Day 1
14.10.2025 (10 am - 5 pm)
- Ediathon: ‘Object meets Maths: Wikidata as a Knowledge Hub’ - Florian Thiery (LEIZA), Anja Gerber (KSW) (10:00 am - 12:00 pm)
- Lunch on a self-pay basis in the cafeteria (12 - 1 pm)
- Icebreaker and introduction round (1:00 - 1:45 pm)
- Presentation of the NFDI consortia (2:00 - 2:45 pm)
- Statistical methods (3:00 - 3:45 pm)
- Data integration knowledge graph (4:00 - 4:45 pm)
- From 5 pm joint conclusion on a self-pay basis in the eggshell
Day 2
15.10.2025 (09:00 am - 1:00 pm)
- Scientific object collections and multimodal research data (9:00 - 9:45 am)
- Use case data analysis ‘Windows on Data’ (10:00 - 10:45 am)
- Interdisciplinary work (challenges / difficult cases / what cannot be operationalised? / what is already well operationalised?) / MARDI as a methods database (11:00 - 11:45 am)
- Fishbowl: Collaboration of mathematical methods in cultural-historical questions (12:00 - 1:00 pm)
- Lunch together on a self-pay basis in the canteen from 1:00 pm
