Clustermeeting CC Authority Files and Community-driven Vocabularies on february 17, 2026
Presentation of the publication “FAIR Vocabularies for Museums and Collections”
We invite you cordially to the Cluster meeting on february 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
The focus is on the presentation of the current publication “FAIRe Vocabularies for Museums and Collections” by the sub-working group of the Minimum Data Set Working Group by working group members Anja Gerber (KSW, NFDI4Objects) and Domenic Schäfer (VZG, NFDI4Culture). The presentation will focus on the central role of controlled vocabularies and standard data for the sustainable reuse of object-describing data in museums and collections.
Based on the recommendations of the minimum data set recommendation for museums and collections, a systematic compilation of relevant vocabularies for collection documentation was developed. Among other things, the following are presented:
- the main content areas of the respective vocabularies,
- their technical implementation status, and
- an evaluation according to the FAIR principles.
The classification according to FAIR criteria enables a well-founded assessment of the sustainability and reusability of the vocabularies, especially in the context of networked publishing and effective research data management.
