Text + Show & Tell Sessions with NFDI4Objects

On April 9, 2026, Anja Gerber (KSW, TA6 NFDI4Objects) and Domenic Schäfer (VZG, NFDI4Culture) will present the “Show and Tell: Tools, Services, Projects of the NFDI Text+ Consortium” session.

The upcoming session will focus on a thematic presentation regarding FAIR vocabularies and authority data for museums and collections. This input will serve as a starting point for a joint discussion.

The discussion will address how controlled vocabularies and authority data can contribute to the implementation of the FAIR principles, what role they play in collection cataloging, and what practical questions arise from this. The subsequent exchange will provide an opportunity for the group to share experiences, perspectives, and questions.

On April 23, 2026, Anja Gerber will continue the series with the topic: Object Biographies in NFDI4Objects.

In the context of NFDI4Objects, Task Area 6 “Qualification, Integration, Harmonization,” the FAU Competence Center for Research Data and Information at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg is developing an integrated knowledge base on objects in collaboration with the Klassik Stiftung Weimar. The central element is a CIDOC CRM-based data model for describing core object data (ObjectCore) as well as another model for representing object biographies. The research environment is based on WissKI.
