Community Recommendations for Long-Term Archiving
The N4O community is to be provided with a service that collects and distributes relevant technical and content-related information for long-term archiving. The basis for this are the IANUS IT recommendations. The submission of content, updates, the quality assurance and decision on acceptance will be carried out by the community as part of the usual commons processes in N4O. For this purpose, the existing IT/FDM recommendations are to be evaluated as part of a TWG. Specific needs and desiderata are to be identified and an initial update made. The existing recommendations are to be specified accordingly and supplemented with missing areas by the community. Those sections that are more in the nature of tutorials, how-tos or learning materials will be systematically separated in close coordination with TA6 and incorporated into the content of TA6’s OERs. Attention will also be paid to a sensible differentiation from other information resources and offers, in particular from other consortia or base services.
