Task Area 1 – Documentation

TA 1 Documentation is dedicated to the requirements of sustainable research data management arising from the primary documentation of archaeological sites and cultural heritage objects.

Our work focuses on the following key areas:

• Digital excavation documentation and surveying
• 3D documentation of objects and features
• Geophysical prospection
• Remote sensing and aerial archaeology

In close cooperation with our community, we develop quality-assured and transferable data management processes through formats such as Community Clusters, Temporary Working Groups, and workshops. Based on subject-specific needs, our recommendations and standards are discursively reviewed and tested directly in the field.
