Certification criteria for technical services in NFDI4Objects (2026)

The services in the portfolio are a key tool for supporting the community in making their data FAIR in their day-to-day research work. The aim is to ensure that all applications and tools on the portfolio meet standards relating to interoperability, reusability, sustainability and transparency, whilst promoting the principles of Open Science.

The following criteria shall apply to initial or recertification only for technical services that are in ‘stable release’ or ‘production operation’.

The certification process is expressly aimed at consortium services – that is, services developed or operated by organisations participating in the consortium within the framework of NFDI4Objects – as well as partner services. Partner services are services that are developed and provided independently, both technically and organisationally, and have received certification from NFDI4Objects.
