TRAILS
Task Related Activities for Implementation and Launch of Services
What are TRAILS?
TRAILS are research-driven pilot projects by NFDI4Objects that develop concrete technical solutions, standards, and tools for research data management. They emerge from community needs and work towards defined results within a goal-oriented framework.
The development of NFDI4Objects is driven by researchers’ needs for managing research data according to FAIR principles. NFDI4Objects uses TRAILS (Task Related Activities for Implementation and Launch of Services) to engage the community. TRAILS enable the development and implementation of practical and innovative ideas that sustainably strengthen both scientific work and the consortium’s infrastructure.
For the first TRAIL phase running since 2023, we have launched 18 projects funded for periods of six to 24 months.
We support project ideas that
explore new approaches and tools to improve the handling of research data and facilitate their exchange.
develop concrete solutions for the needs of the research community. Our consortium members work across disciplines to create practical approaches for handling object-related research data.
are sustainable in the long term. The results of TRAILS are integrated as services into NFDI4Objects and are available in the NFDI4Objects Commons.
