Workshop on FAIR Object Documentation in Museums and Collections, on 8–9 October in Berlin
Look Back
As part of the NFDI4Objects workshop series held in conjunction with the Decentralised Community Meeting 2026, Task Area 2: Collecting invited 15 advanced undergraduates and postgraduates from the fields of classical and cultural studies to a workshop on Berlin’s Museum Island. Generous funding from N4O also enabled students from universities and higher education institutions across the entire German-speaking world to take part. Under the title “FAIRe Object Documentation in Museums and Collections”, various institutions within the Berlin State Museums, led by the Münzkabinett, provided insights into their practices regarding object documentation, the publication and digital provision of collection data. The event was complemented by visits to the collections, presentations on current digitisation projects, and a hands-on session on AI-assisted object identification using the open-source software AutArch.
The presentations from the event are available on Zenodo.
