Numismatic standard data as Linked Open Data
Description:
The Berlin Numismatic Cabinet’s Standard Data Portal (NDP) provides digital concepts and their definitions for the standardised documentation of numismatic objects as Linked Open Data. The NDP offers numismatic terms and concepts both via a searchable online interface and as downloadable files. The top-level categories (classes), such as owner, country, material, denomination, person, subject term, etc., are grouped together in a separate tab and, in addition to an ndp-id in the form of a URL, are also assigned further Linked Open Data IDs (e.g. nomisma.org, GND, VIAF, Museum Digital Term, British Museum ID, Wikidata Q-entity, Geonames). The individual concepts assigned to these categories can be searched for either independently or within these categories. These are also assigned their own ndp-id and – where available – provided with further IDs from relevant standardised data sources (e.g. nomisma, GND, VIAF, Getty Thesaurus, Geonames and Wikidata Q-entity).
