Cluster meeting of the CC “Data Capture and Creation”

On 14 July 2026, from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm, the next cluster meeting of the CC “Data Capture and Creation” will take place. Our guest is Prof. Dr Martin Langner, Professor of Digital Image and Object Studies at the Georg-August University of Göttingen.

Using the example of 3D digitisation of collection objects, the session will provide information on the various scanning methods and 3D data formats, as well as addressing issues relating to the provision of data in 3D repositories, scholarly annotation and 3D object analysis. As there are no uniform standards, recommendations for appropriate workflows will also be provided, depending on the specific research question.
