Workshop: Survey2GIS-Practical introduction: Basics of the QGIS plugin and the web-based ParserGenerator

In the field of archaeological excavations, Geographic Information Systems play a central role in the documentation and analysis of finds and findings. The QGIS plug-in SurveyDataProcessor, developed at the State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments within the Stuttgart Regional Council on the basis of the Survey2GIS software, makes it easy to create clean geometries in QGIS from survey data obtained during documentation. This represents the first step towards sustainable, standardised and high-quality geospatial data and is, for example, of fundamental importance for the creation of site plans.

The aim of this workshop is to use sample data to explain the basic functionality of the QGIS plug-in and the web-based parser generator through various workflows, and to enable participants to carry these out independently. The knowledge gained here will be sufficient to integrate and apply the software in your own daily work later on. There will also be time for questions and discussion with the developers.

Participation requirements: Participants must have a current version of QGIS installed, as well as the Survey2GIS Data Processor plugin. No prior knowledge is required.
