Job opening at the Joint Library Network’s Central Office (VZG|GBV)
Authority Data Editor for Lower Saxony, specialising in museum authority data
The following position is to be filled at the Joint Library Network (GBV) headquarters as soon as possible as part of the ‘Culture Cloud’ project, which is funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK):
Standard Data Editor for Lower Saxony, specialising in museum standard data (m/f/d) – full-time, up to pay grade 11 TV-L, fixed-term contract until 30 September 2030
The GBV Central Office (VZG) is a Lower Saxony state agency based in Göttingen. As the GBV’s service centre, it is responsible for IT processes for academic and public libraries, as well as for research and cultural institutions within the seven participating federal states and the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. On behalf of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK), the Digital Library Department develops and operates the state’s cultural portals and also provides numerous services for memory institutions.
Furthermore, it participates in several consortia of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). In this context, the VZG is developing a central cultural data infrastructure for Lower Saxony’s memory institutions in close cooperation with the GWDG and other development partners as part of the Culture Cloud project. As part of this initiative, the memory institutions in Lower Saxony have agreed to establish a central authority data editorial office.
