Introduction to Metadata
This script explains what metadata are, what types of metadata exist, and why it is important for every research project to describe files, datasets, and the research project itself using metadata. This learning unit is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students (BA and MA) as well as doctoral researchers in disciplines concerned with the material heritage of human history. The discipline-specific examples and data are tailored to this target audience.
