What does the NFDI4Objects Qualification offer?
NFDI4Objects Qualification develops open resources for teaching research data management (RDM) skills – from FAIR teaching and learning materials (Open Educational Resources – OER) and OER templates to qualification frameworks and community formats.
In collaboration with the various task areas of NFDI4Objects, practical resources are being developed that address current subject-specific requirements and support the sustainable integration of FDM into research, training and teaching.
The service is aimed in particular at:
- Researchers and practitioners in the field of cultural heritage
- Lecturers and higher education institutions
- Students
- FDM advisers

🎓 Qualifications Framework
Competence model for FDM in the field of cultural heritage.
To better integrate research data management into teaching, Task Area 6 is developing a specialised qualifications framework.
This is based on the NFDI learning outcomes matrix for RDM (Petersen et al. 2025) and specifies the necessary competences for different fields of application within the area of the material heritage of human history.
The qualifications framework:
- defines relevant areas of competence
- distinguishes between different levels
- supports the development of curricular teaching programmes
- facilitates the sustainable teaching of FDM competences
