A pool of scientists to accompany the process of scientifically identifying, addressing and recording the objects kept in the museums, documenting them and enriching them with digital concepts, creating common thesauri and enriching them with Linked Open Data (LOD).A pool of researchers from the context of museum and university object collections who exchange information about shared and decentralized authority files and community-driven vocabularies and discuss the requirements and specifications for the common structure and referencing among themselves. We understand authority files to be authority data (e.g. GND, ISIL, AAT etc.), community-driven vocabularies are domain-specific thesauri, typologies, taxonomies and controlled vocabularies created by research communities.

In this context, the CC deals with the following topics:

  • Collection / cataloging of existing Authority Files & Community-Driven Vocabularies
  • Workflow for the creation and integration of personal standard data in the GND / VIAF
  • Derivation of specific thesauri and development of meta-structures (e.g. for the maritime world, numismatics, iconography, …)
  • Semantic alignment / mapping of authority files, community driven vocabularies, GND, Wikidata, etc.
  • Ontologies, semantics and generic reference models as well as standards for data exchange (e.g. LIDO, CIDOC CRM, EDM)
