CARE Principles
Subject and objectives
The subject of the TWG are the “CARE Principles”, which, in the context of open data and open science, explicitly secure territorially bound group-specific perspectives and digital access restrictions for indigenous peoples in research data management. The focus is on: Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, and Ethics.
The TWG “CARE Principles” aims to prepare the topic for the field of archaeology and related sciences in order to sensitize collection researchers to the topic and identify possible challenges in data curation. Context-specific possibilities for implementing the CARE principles in biographical research on historical objects, which are the focus of the NFDI4Objects community, are being developed.
