Research Registry Resource FAIRification Tool for LOD resources
Description
The TRAIL Research Registry Resource FAIRification Tool for LOD Resources addresses the challenge of making heterogeneous terminological resources and Linked Open Data (LOD) from collection research and object-oriented research data management (FDM) sustainably accessible and interoperable. Currently, there is no lookup tool capable of querying traditional authority files (e.g., GND, Getty AAT), community-driven vocabularies (e.g., Wikidata, FactGrid, OpenStreetMap), as well as TS4NFDI and DANTE resources simultaneously. To close this gap, a multi-purpose lookup and resolving service is being developed based on the LEIZA tool re3dragon, which for the first time addresses the specific needs of the FDM community in the field of material cultural heritage. A technical innovation is the migration of the Dragon Lair module from a triplestore to a Wikibase instance, thereby integrating re3dragon into the NFDI4Objects and Basic Services infrastructure. In addition, the SKOS extension SKOSplus is being expanded to include object-specific criteria, based on the MOD API standard from TS4NFDI (MOD Ontology, DCAT, NFDI Core Metadata Profile). The goal is to develop interoperable standards and exchange formats for LOD resources that support the entire research data lifecycle. In this way, TRAIL 2.7 contributes to all four pillars of NFDI4Objects: standardization (S1), service development (S2), community integration (S3), and international networking (S4).
