Survey on the provision of information in the museum

We have received the following request regarding participation in a survey, which we would very much like to share here:

Please note that the survey is only available in German. There is no English version of the questionnaire.

Access to scholarly information is a key prerequisite for many tasks within a museum – from collection documentation and research to exhibition design.

  • But to what extent are museum staff’s information needs actually being met?
  • How do museum staff access scholarly information?
  • And are museum libraries still relevant for providing information?

I am exploring these questions as part of my Master’s thesis in the Library and Information Science programme at Cologne University of Applied Sciences. The aim of the study is to gain an up-to-date picture of information provision in museums and to identify existing challenges and potential for development.

I would therefore like to warmly invite everyone working in museums to take part in this online survey. Your experiences and views will make an important contribution to our understanding of information provision in the museum sector.

The survey takes approximately 15–20 minutes to complete and is anonymous.

You can access the survey here: https://unipark.th-koeln.de/uc/Informationsversorgung_im_Museum/

Please contact me, chantal_maria.reissel@smail.th-koeln.de if you have any questions or comments.

Thank you very much for your support!

Kind regards,
